WHAT WE DO
We take action locally and globally. Since 1992, over $3.7 million has been raised and distributed by the Club’s Foundation to support numerous non-profit organizations and causes in the local community, as well as selected international projects. The Foundation raises money through the annual Turkey Chase and direct donations.
Our largest fundraiser is our Thanksgiving Day race (10k, 2k, tot trot) co-sponsored with the B-CC YMCA. The race takes place in downtown Bethesda. While 2020 brought challenges, the race continued virtually for its 38th year. The event raised more than $140,000.
FEED BETHESDA
With the support of its foundation and other local Rotary clubs, members come together to provide Thanksgiving food baskets to more than 160 food-insecure families.
CHILDREN"S SHOPPING SPREE
The club buys gifts and hosts a party for local children in need.
END POLIO NOW
Each year, the club holds a holiday party hosted by a club member. Donations from the party support The Rotary Foundation for Polio Plus.
BACKPACK PROGRAM
The club also supports children at Bethesda Elementary by working with the Women Who Care Ministries to provide food for the Weekend Backpack Program weekend food on a monthly basis.
SERVICE DAYS
The club sponsors collection drives and purchasing of essential items to support families in Montgomery County through charities such as A Wider Circle. Members also donate time to the organizations.
Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rotary Club Foundation, Inc
The club's non-profit 501(c)(3) foundation provides financial support to charitable endeavors of worthy local, regional, national, and international organizations, consistent with Rotary’s mission, goals, and objectives.
