The following criteria are for general direction and reflect recent discussions of the B-CC Foundation Board of Directors. They are intended to serve as guidelines only. Each request is to be evaluated on its own merits and the Foundation’s abilities. Projects should enhance the visibility of Rotary International and/or the B-CC Rotary Club. All projects must be sponsored by a member in good standing of the B-CC Rotary Club. Projects should promote general welfare of the recipients. Projects should have a tangible and immediate effect that will be measurable. Smaller dollar projects are preferred to larger dollar projects. With national and especially with international projects, there should be a Rotary Club at the other end that will direct, administer, report and assure completion of the project. Projects that are catalytic with either financial or donations-in-kind multiplying effects are desirable. Projects should be apolitical. Projects financing capital campaigns, administrative costs or ongoing operating budgets are less desirable. Projects which pose potential liability, conflicts of interest or negative publicity (i.e., do not meet the Rotary Four-Way Test) are to be avoided. |
